In partnership with IU8, the Readiness Institute at Penn State Summer Discovery is a six-week experience for rising high school seniors in Allegheny, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, and Somerset county that aims to prepare every learner to become community and future ready.
Instructors for the Readiness Institute Summer Discovery serve the essential role of guiding learners through an immersive learning experience. Instructors are paid
to support rising high school seniors as they set their personalized goals for future success and lead them through experiential learning activities focused on building social-emotional learning and cognitive skills and competencies.
Applicants should be experienced teachers and/or counselors who can work 30 hours per week for six weeks (M-Thu) from June 24 to August 1, plus orientation the week prior to the start of the program. The stipend amount is $5,000.
