In this series of 5 live, online workshops plus 4 self-directed lessons, you are guided through the 6E instructional model to design virtual learning experienced in Canvas, moodle or your own LMS. Adapted from the research-based 5E model by BSCS, our 6E model involves 6 stages of learning: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate, and Express.
Who Should Attend?
If you're exploring blended or online learning for your classroom, this series is for you! No previous experiences in building or teaching online courses necessary.
Time & Resources
This series consists of 24 learning hours (15 live hours and approximately 9 self-directed hours). Of course, the time you put into the design of your own module is up to you! The best part is, you can learn from home!
You can use your district's learning management system (LMS) but if you don not already have an account in an LMS, one will be provided. You will need to have internet access. It will be helpful for you to have instructional materials (curriculum maps, unit plans, lesson materials, etc.) to work from during the workshops.
By the end of this series, you will have created your own engaging virtual learning module! Show what you know by earning a badge for each workshop/self-directed lesson that you complete. (pictured below)
